R&D Technicians Hiring in Boston Metal

Boston Metal is commercializing cutting edge extractive metallurgy technology that will revolutionize primary metals production by improving metal quality while decreasing cost and lowering environmental impact. This fast-paced startup company is looking for a R&D Technician to join the team.

Duties will include preparation of laboratory-scale experimental setup, powder handling in chemical hood, sample preparation, laboratory equipment and general laboratory maintenance. In addition, the R&D Technician will be helping develop and manufacture new experimental setup.

Required experience and skills: 5+ years in research or technical environment conducting laboratory-scale experiment preparation and sample preparation. Associate or Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college in one or more of the following areas: Metallurgical or Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Metallographic sample preparation
• Laboratory furnace operations
• Machining
• Laboratory equipment maintenance
• Experience with chemical hood operations
• Experience in laboratory environment
• Experience with high-temperature processes >1000°C
• Experience working in small teams & start-up atmosphere
